Connect Rithmic
Use the Rithmic credentials, System, and Gateway supplied by your broker, funding evaluator, or prop firm. Do not guess from the firm's name or choose the geographically closest gateway unless the firm explicitly tells you to.
Rithmic support is Current in the connection picker, but public release certification is still required. Complete first tests in the provider's paper or evaluation environment and verify the exact account before live order entry.
Follow the market-data agreements, prop-firm rules, and laws that apply to you. Many individual or evaluation-account users may qualify as non-professional, but Non-Professional is an exchange and contractual attestation—not a default HyperionX setting. Select it only if it truthfully describes your status under the displayed definition. Ask the broker or prop firm if you are unsure.
What You Need From The Firm
Before opening HyperionX, collect the exact values in the firm's welcome or connection instructions:
- Rithmic User ID
- Rithmic password
- Rithmic System, such as a named prop-firm system or Rithmic Paper Trading
- Rithmic Gateway
- confirmation of the accounts and market-data entitlements assigned to the login
The credentials come from the broker, funding evaluator, FCM, or prop firm—not from HyperionX. Rithmic's R | Trader Pro page confirms that those organizations provide access and credentials.
First-Time R | Trader Pro Login
Some firms require a successful R | Trader Pro login before a third-party platform can use a new Rithmic account. If the firm gives you this instruction, or the login has never been activated:
- Download R | Trader Pro from the official Rithmic page or the exact link supplied by the firm.
- Start R | Trader Pro and enter the firm-provided User ID and password.
- Select the exact System and Gateway named in the firm's instructions.
- Complete every required agreement, disclosure, market-data questionnaire, and password step.
- If asked for professional status, read the displayed definition and answer accurately. Do not select Non-Professional merely because it is common for individual prop-firm customers.
- Confirm that the expected account appears, then sign out.
- Exit R | Trader Pro completely before connecting HyperionX.
Do not leave R | Trader Pro at its login screen or running in the background. The same credentials are used in HyperionX after first-time activation.
Why R | Trader Pro Must Be Closed
The current HyperionX Rithmic form creates a direct connection and does not expose Rithmic Plugin Mode. A Rithmic market-data login normally permits one direct application session; a second direct platform can disconnect the first.
Rithmic's multi-platform connection guide describes a different workflow in which R | Trader Pro stays open with Allow Plugins enabled. Do not use that Plugin Mode workflow for HyperionX unless a future HyperionX build explicitly exposes and documents it.
Add Rithmic In HyperionX
- In HyperionX, open Connections > Configure....
- Select Rithmic under available connections, then select Add.
- Under Configured connections, select the new Rithmic entry.
- Enter a recognizable Name.
- Set System to the exact system provided by the firm.
- Enter the same Rithmic User ID and Password used for the activation login.
- Set Gateway to the exact gateway provided by the firm.
- Leave Enable market data on only if this connection should consume the login's data entitlement.
- Choose the preferred Symbology display style. This changes display names, not the Rithmic account or gateway.
- Decide whether Save Credentials is appropriate for this Windows account, then select OK.
- Open Connections and select the saved connection name.
After it connects, verify the connection message in Log, the account identity in Accounts, and one entitled instrument before opening any order-entry surface.
First Connection Test
- Confirm R | Trader Pro and every other Rithmic platform using this login are closed.
- Connect HyperionX and wait for the expected accounts to load.
- Load one instrument that the firm says is entitled.
- Verify historical data, live updates, and depth separately.
- Select
LocalPaperfor the first HyperionX order test. - If testing a provider paper or evaluation account later, recheck the full account name immediately before submission.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Check |
|---|---|
| Invalid credentials or login rejected | Complete the first R |
| System not recognized | Compare System with the firm instructions. A prop-firm login may not use Rithmic Paper Trading or Rithmic 01. |
| Connection timeout or wrong region | Use the exact Gateway supplied by the firm. Do not substitute a nearby city. |
| Already logged in or repeated disconnects | Exit R |
| Account loads but data does not | Confirm Enable market data and ask the firm which exchanges and products are entitled. |
| Account or permissions differ from expectations | Stop order entry and ask the firm to confirm the login, environment, account assignment, and market-data classification. |
Do not repeatedly reconnect or submit orders while provider state is uncertain. Follow Connection Recovery if an order may already have reached Rithmic.
